PETER MCVERRY TRUST

I chose this charity as I really wanted to do something in aid of homelessness as it is such a huge epidemic in Ireland right now. The Peter McVerry Trust also provide services for people with addictions. This is also a huge issue right now. With my background in psychiatric nursing this charity appealed to me.
Established in 1983, Peter McVerry Trust provides low-threshold entry services, primarily to young people and vulnerable adults with complex needs. They offer pathways out of homelessness based on the principles of the Housing First model.
As they mark their 35th anniversary in 2018, your support and kindness ensures that they can continue to provide crucial services to those who need them most.
Last year, Peter McVerry Trust supported 4,971 individuals across their services. By the end of the year, they were providing over 1,000 beds nightly. As the demand for their services continues to grow, they are ever expanding the range of accommodation and supports they provide.
